We are building Community Gallery - a living, breathing album of photos captured by you, the people who know and love this village. And we've made it easier than ever to contribute using the Kaluwala Telegram Bot.

How to Upload Your Photos: A Simple Guide

Ready to share? It's easy. We've designed the process to be simple and rewarding.

Step 1: The "Golden Key" (Subscribe First)

To make sure our gallery is built by our amazing community, the upload feature is available exclusively to our blog subscribers.
If you haven't already, just send the /subscribe command to the bot. (Need help? Check out our subscription guide here

Step 2: Start the Upload

Once you're a subscriber, just open the bot and type this command: /upload
The bot will reply with a prompt, letting you know it's ready to receive your photo.

Step 3: Send Your Photo

Simply choose the photo you want to share from your phone and send it to the bot. You can send one photo at a time.

Step 4: A Quick Review

After you send your photo, the bot will send you a message:

Image uploaded successfully! Your photo has been submitted and is now awaiting review.

This is a crucial step! To keep our gallery beautiful and appropriate for everyone, our community team does a quick review of every submission.

Step 5: You're Live!

Once your photo is approved (usually within 24 hours), you'll get a happy notification:

🎉 Photo Approved! Great news! Your photo was approved and is now live in the gallery!

Your photo will then appear in the public Community Gallery for everyone to see and appreciate.

Tips for Great Submissions

We want to showcase your best work! Here are a few tips to help get your photos approved:

Share Your Own Work: Please only upload photos that you took yourself.
Keep it Clear: The best photos are high-quality, clear, and well-lit. Avoid blurry or very dark images.
Be Respectful: All photos should be appropriate for a family-friendly community gallery. No explicit content or hate speech is allowed.
Kaluwala-Focused: We love seeing photos of our village's landscapes, nature, people, and events!

A Few Simple Rules

To keep things fair and manageable for everyone, please keep these rules in mind:

File Size: Photos should be under 2MB. (Don't worry, most phone photos are already within this limit).
Pending Limit: You can have up to 5 photos "awaiting review" at one time. If you hit this limit, just wait for the team to review them before you upload more.

What if my photo isn't approved?
If your photo doesn't meet our guidelines, you'll receive a polite notification. This might be because it was blurry, not related to the community, or didn't follow our respectful content rules. Don't be discouraged - you can always submit another photo!
How many photos can I upload?
As many as you like! While there's a limit of 5 pending photos, there's no daily limit on total approved uploads.
Will I be credited for my photo?
The gallery is a community effort! Your photo will be displayed, and we'll link it to your public Telegram profile (if you have one) to celebrate your contribution.
